What to Expect on the day of Jowl Lift

Our Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach patients’ jowl lift surgery involves making a smaller pre-auricular incision hidden in the natural crease in front of the ear, elevating the skin along with tightening the underlying SMAS muscle, followed by removal of any excess skin. Sutures are placed followed by a head dressing. Sutures are removed typically at 7 days postoperatively.

Dr. Mandal typically performs this less invasive outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with an oral sedative. The risks are lower with local anesthesia as are the recovery and downtime.
