Facelift Vs. Incision-Less Whisper Lift™

Question: You recently wrote about the Incision-Less Whisper Lift™. How does one know if they are a candidate for your Whisper Lift compared to a facelift?

Answer: Below are the main differences between the Incision-Less Whisper Lift™ and a facelift.

Incision-Less Whisper Lift™
● No incisions
● Straight local anesthesia without IV’s
● 30 minutes operating time
● No stitches to remove
● Minimal invasive
● Rapid recovery
● No downtime
● Lower risk
● Treats neck and lower jowl

Facelift
● Incisions in front and behind ears and under chin
● General or IV anesthesia
● 3-4 hours operative time
● Suture removal 7-10 days after surgery
● More invasive
● Longer recovery
● Some downtime
● Higher risk
● Treats neck and upper and lower jowl

Candidates for the Incision-Less Whisper Lift™ have:
● Mild to moderate neck skin
● Platysmal muscle neck bands and/or submental neck fat
● Mild lower jowls
● Desire for less invasive surgery

Candidates for a facelift
● Moderate to significant neck skin
● Platysmal muscle neck bands and /or submental neck fat
● More significant jowls
● Are ready for more invasive surgery

The Incision-Less Whisper Lift™ can be performed in patients in their 50’s and 60’s with mild to moderate lower face and neck skin. It is also performed on older patients who have previously had facelift surgery and are looking for less invasive touch-up surgery for mild to moderate aging in the lower jowls and neck.

If you have a significant turkey neck with very loose skin, you most likely need a facelift and will not be a candidate for the Incision-Less Whisper Lift™.

The best way to determine if you are a candidate for the Incision-Less Whisper Lift™ is through a detailed consultation with a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who is experienced in the full range of face and neck lifting procedures. It is a faulty perception to think that one should use a non-surgeon for minimal invasive treatments and a surgeon only for surgery. A comprehensive treatment approach from the right specialist can optimize your rejuvenation results and significantly reduce your risks of complications.
